Professor Bruce Barry Director

Bruce Barry is Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Professor of Management and Professor of Sociology at Vanderbilt University. Prof. Barry is the author of numerous books and articles on workplace rights, ethics and public policy, and the psychology of interpersonal and group behavior in organizations. He is currently the editor-in-chief of Business Ethics Quarterly and a member of the editorial boards of Negotiation and Conflict Management Research and Work and Occupations.

Prof. Barry is past president of the International Association for Conflict Management, and former chair of the Conflict Management Division of the Academy of Management. He is a member of the national board of directors of the American Civil Liberties Union and is past president and current board member of the ACLU of Tennessee.

Prof. Barry received a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Virginia. He has taught at UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University, and has been a visiting professor at the Melbourne Business School and the Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
